Posted by Mike

If you get a chance check out “Interesting Tidbits” on the Phil Steele link. One thing that caught my eye was the list of “Winningest Active Coaches”.

WINNINGEST ACTIVE FBS COACHES (Minimum 6 yrs)
Rk Coach                        Record            Win%

Two coaches on the list in Georgia. Is the state big enough?

Four on the list in the SEC, and take note who is missing. Nick Saban.

Then there is the list showing “Most Victories in first 13 seasons as a coach:

  1. Wins at D-1AA should not count.

  2. You're right Dave. They have extra playoff games.

  3. PJ could out coach CMR any day of the week and twice on Sunday. He is a no bs coach who actually has a game plan that he coaches, and check out our special teams/penalties. No comparison! UGA is the next FSU. Lots of talent and high expectations. No delivery.

  4. I'm a Tech fan, but there are a few more games in a saeson now than there were in the Osbourne/Switzer days. Combine that with I-AA playoffs and the number gets a little more skewed as well. He's a great coach and I love having him at Tech, but let's not twist the numbers too much. The others at the top do have the I-A titles and bowl wins Coach Johnson doesnt have quite yet either.
