73 Days And Counting Down!

Post by Mike

The way the Braves are playing we need college football to get here and soon!

I have no idea who will win the first week, but I can pick a few that will not cover.

They are in BOLD.

Saturday - August 30 -2014

Arkansas at Auburn (-24)

Colorado St vs Colorado (-4) (Denver)
Clemson at Georgia (-9)
California at Northwestern (-9.5)
UCLA (-21.5) at Virginia
Ohio St (-14) vs Navy (Baltimore) - OSU lost a lot of players! Navy returns a lot.
Penn St (-2.5) vs UCF (Ireland)
West Virginia vs Alabama (-27.5) (Atlanta) That's a big week one number with a new QB.
Florida St (-17) vs Oklahoma St (Arlington) Just a hunch, but the ego may need deflating.
LSU (-7) vs Wisconsin (Houston)

UGH.... Another reason why Auburn will be hard to handle.

Maybe we can reverse Goudy the Tigers/War Eagles/Plainsmen into a losing season, but so far the annalist are making a strong case for them repeating as SEC Champions.

This next Phil Steele breakdown shows the 2 deep rosters giving higher points for more experienced players.

Auburn ranks highest among the SEC with 79 points:

Phil Steele's 2 deep breakdown

Between that and UGA being favored in every game except that road battle at Carolina, the November 15 match up in Athens is looking HUGE!

Right now Georgia is favored by 1 point over Auburn. Hope we remember to knock the pass to the ground!

Career O Line Starts Returning

Post by Mike
William and I promised an old friend we would get back to regular posting on the Blog for this college football season, so here goes.

As a Phil Steele believer I am a bit distressed over his favorite stat, “Career O Line Starts Returning”. Or more basically, how seasoned and deep is your o-line? I clicked on his link expecting UGA to be in the top 20, but my hopes were shattered to find us ranked at 81, and tied with Notre Dame, with 54 combined starts.

Even more troubling is the fact that FSU ranked 10 at 114, Auburn 11 at 113, and South Carolina 10 at 112.
